Truck spills toxic chemicals along highway in Argentina
A truck spilled toxic chemicals along a highway in Argentina on Wednesday afternoon.
The semi-trailer sprung a leak, covering part of the road in Ituzaingo, Buenos Aires in toxic fumes believed to be a type of fertiliser.
Local media citing firefighters reported that 'there is a quantity of toxic product, which still cannot be identified because the truck did not have labelling.'
Several people who inhaled the cloud of chemicals were rushed to hospitals, with no initial reports of serious cases.
San Martin ecological police were decontaminating the area.
The Ituzaingo municipal government has urged residents near the vicinity to stay indoors and close their doors and windows.
