It’s all systems go for the 2023 Formula E Prix in Cape Town

Cape Town, 24 February 2023 - All plans are in place for the 2023 Formula E Prix to race through the streets of Cape Town tomorrow. Streets around the Cape Town stadium will be closed to host the international racing event. The main race is due to start at 4pm on Saturday 25 February.

A media briefing was held at Cape Town Stadium with various drivers and teams. Twelve drivers from six teams will complete in the race in electric powered vehicles.

Edoardo "Edo" Mortara the driver for the Maserati MSG Racing team speaking about the prospects of winning the Cape Town race said: “ But to come here and say “yes are in a position that we can win” I think it’s really unrealistic. I thinks it important to set ourselves you know realistic goals.”

South African born driver Kevin Van Der Linde from the ABT team was welcomed to Cape Town with much fanfare. Speaking at the media briefing he said: “ Since landing in Cape Town it’s been amazing. The reception from the local guys here been amazing.”

Three days ago it was announced that more than 25000 tickets had been sold for the race. The event is expected to be completely sold out.
