Emergency services continue to recover bodies of passengers from carriages after two trains collided in Tempi, Greece, on February 28.

Footage from March 1 shows cranes lifting sections of the twisted wreckage off the tracks.

Rescue teams are seen removing several bodies from the destroyed carriages.

First responder Vasilis Iliopoulos said: “We reached the train crash site during the night a few moments after the accident. We started immediate rescue operations at the crashed wagons.

"We only could find dead people dismembered or totally burned inside. All the healthy passengers and the injured were already out.

"Now we recover only dead and body parts which we place inside body bags to be transferred to the hospital.“

The crash left at least 36 people dead and more than 60 injured. Transport Minister Kostas Karamanlis has resigned and the local stationmaster has been charged with manslaughter.
