Colourful Vaisakhi celebrations in Kent, UK

Colorful Vaisakhi celebrations took place in Gravesend in Kent, UK this morning (April 15).

Vaisakhi is a celebration of spring harvest and celebrates the year 1699 when Sikhism was born as a collective faith.

The event attracted thousands of people from varying Sikh communities across Kent and south east London as well drawing many spectators.

Footage shows the procession, called Nagar Kirtan, leaving Gravesend's Guru Nanak Darbar temple - the largest Gurdwara in Europe.
