More than 1,100 Indian nationals arrived in Delhi on April 26 after being rescued from Sudan.

The citizens were safely rescued in six batches by the Indian Air Force.

According to reports, around 3,000 Indians were estimated to be stranded in Sudan when the conflicted erupted.

Over 1,100 Indians have been evacuated from war-torn Sudan as the nationals have been flying to northern India's Delhi and Mumbai in western India's Maharashtra.

Visuals showed 246 Indian nationals in IAF C17 Globemaster as they awaited their flight to Mumbai. Also, visuals of IAF C-130J arriving at Jeddah airport went viral where a total of 128 Indian nationals were rescued. They came down the flight and were greeted by the officials. A flight (C-130) was also seen landing at Jeddah with 121 Indians. As per reports, all 1,100 Indians have been rescued safely from the war-torn nation in six batches, the first of which has 360 Indians who returned to Delhi. Minister of State for External Affairs, V Muraleedharan welcomed the Indians at Jeddah airport.

Apart from the Indian Air Force aircrafts, naval ship INS Sumedha was also positioned at Port Sudan to rescue the Indians stranded in the African nation. A third naval ship, reportedly INS Tarkash, also has reached Port Sudan.

The African nation of Sudan has witnessed vicious clashes break out between the army and the para-military forces.
