Disabled cow spoonfed dinner by 'airplane' like a spoiled princess toddler
A disabled cow who was born with her back legs twisted underneath her is regularly handfed by ‘airplane’ like a toddler as parents describe her as ‘spoiled little princess’.
Angel the four-year-old cow has been cared for by Jered and Shawn Camp at Iowa Farm Sanctuary ever since she was born with her disability.
Adorable footage shows Jered, 42, with a bowlful of broccoli as he flies one floret through the air while saying ‘here comes the airplane’ to Angel’s mouth.
The video – which has been viewed more than 80,000 times – shows the ‘spoiled’ heifer lick her lips as another piece of vegetable makes its way to her.
Shawn, 36, said: “Angel is our whole world. She is the most spoiled little princess and we cannot imagine a world in which we are not catering to her. We love her so much.
“We hand feed Angel all the time. We are all herbivores around here, so it works out well.
“Since Angel has always lived in the house with us, it became easy to give her the scraps from our meals, like the stalks of broccoli.
“Eventually she learned that ‘human’ food was what she preferred and she started to beg. We are of course happy to oblige her.
“Broccoli is her absolute favourite along with bananas. She does primarily eat hay though.
“Angel was surrendered to us after being born with her disability. Her back legs are twisted underneath her and her joints are in a locked position.
“We assume that because her mother was so small, that Angel did not have room to properly develop.
“Jered and I founded the sanctuary in 2015 and took in our first rescues in 2016.
“We have just under 150 formerly farmed animals that we care for here and we have helped to rescue hundreds more.
“We do have an entire ‘misfit’ barn that houses our residents who have specialized care needs and disabilities.
“Some have suffered from frostbite and lost their legs, others born blind, so on and so on.”
