Wooden board flies off back of moving truck and hits car behind
A wooden board flew off the back of a moving truck and hit a car traveling behind.
Dashcam footage shows the object being blown away from the poorly-secured pile of pallets in Prachuap Khiri Khan province, Thailand, on May 2.
The bungling truck driver didn't seem to notice its fallen cargo and continued travelling along the road.
Driver Jay Wuttipong whose car was hit by the board said he chased after the reckless motorist for causing a danger on the road.
He said: 'I stopped him and informed him about what happened. He didn't use ropes to tie the wood. I asked him why, and he told me because it was only a short drive.'
Despite being furious, Jay decided to let it go as no one was hurt, and the car was not damaged.
He said: ‘I just reminded him to be careful. What if he hit a motorcycle with that? It is frustrating.'
Thailand has one of the world's worst road safety records. Ministers have set the goal of reducing fatalities from 32.7 deaths per 100,000 people to 12 per 100,000 people by the year 2027.
However, a lack of road safety education in schools, cheap loans for cars, notoriously easy driving tests, police failures to enforce road laws as well as endemic corruption and chronic under-investment in infrastructure hamper the efforts.
