A wild tree snake was seen coiling around the wing mirror of a moving car in Thailand.

The green serpent emerged while driver Teerapong Namvisate was on his way to work in Lopburi province on March 21.

It then slithered from the driver's side to the windscreen while appearing to search for a way inside the vehicle.

Footage shows the animal slinking around the sedan. It moved its head to the roof, partially blocking Teerapong's view.

Teerapong said: ‘Fortunately, I know what kind of snake it was. It was not venomous so I calmly drove but I was a bit worried that it can find a way inside the car.'

The snake then fled the car to a nearby garden outside Teerapong's workplace.

The green tree snake is a common snake in Thailand, where it can normally be found in forests, woodlands, and sometimes in urban areas. Green tree snakes are non-venomous and pose no threat to humans.
