STORYLINE:

A total of 40 international students from 24 countries studying in China visited Guizhou Province from June 2 to 7.

During the tour, 20 students visited China's Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope (FAST), the world's largest single-dish radio telescope.

"Before we climbed up to the sightseeing platform, I didn't expect the telescope can be so gigantic."

"Before I came to China, I often watched news report in South Korea. One of them was about the Chinese telescope, but I only saw the pictures of it and didn't know much about it. After I came here today, I think that everyone must come to see the real China."

The students also visited a memorial hall dedicated to the late chief scientist of FAST project, Nan Rendong.

"I was deeply touched by the story of Nan Rendong. He devoted himself to the Chinese people. He said the money to build the telescope was all invested by the government, and the money came from the Chinese people, so he must finish the job well, otherwise he would feel guilty. Those words particularly moved me."
