A couple slipped and fell on their backsides while walking along a floating dock in the choppy sea.

The holidaymakers were trying to board a yacht but had to first negotiate the shaky pontoon on Koh Lipe island in southern Thailand on June 1.

Footage shows the pair walking across the wobbly bridge as the waves crashed onto the shore. The man holding a white bag was 10ft-away from his companion when the surge hit.

The couple was knocked off their feet before guides helped them reach the vessel safely.

Onlooker Jeeranan Thongsri said: ‘That happened to me too several times. These things are unavoidable.'

After the pair had safely reached inside the yacht, another two women dared to cross and like the couple, they had to be assisted into the vessel.

Jeeranan added: ‘That spot in the beach became an attraction for that reason.'
