Dashcam shows the moment a car nearly hits a child on a scooter in the road.

Sami Burchell, 30, was driving when she almost struck a young girl in Bicester, Oxon, on Friday (16/6).

Sami had been driving home when she turned a corner as a supermarket delivery van passed her.

The scooter rider who appeared to be trying to overtake the van on her black e-scooter appeared in front of her.

Sami was able to stand on the brakes and narrowly avoided hitting her - but she says that had she been going just a little bit faster it could have ended very differently.

Dashcam footage shows the girl check the damage, raise her hand to apologise, and ride off shortly after.

Posting the footage on her Facebook, Sami wrote: "Please have a word with your children/teens about riding these scooters! "

"This girl hopped back on the scooter and took off before I could even check my car for damage. "

"Accident waiting to happen when people ride like this! Luckily I wasn’t going fast and could stop, but could have been very different!"
