An overexcited baby cow dragged a girl across the yard in Mexico.

The calf - which is the size of two big dogs - was being taken to the back of the house so it could eat fresh grass in Sonora on April 22.

But the creature, apparently realising where they were going, suddenly ran away while a teenager held onto its leash.

Footage shows the dark brown young bovine pulling away as the girl fights to keep it under control.

The girl's friend Jasmine said: ‘I think the calf was excited to eat because it suddenly left us when it saw where we were heading.'

Jasmine screamed as her friend was dragged across dirt and found her on the corner of the property lying on the ground.

She asked her ‘Are you okay,' to which her friend answered a faint ‘no.'
