It's massive, it's creative, and it sits on a beach in India's Chennai.
A jaw-dropping turtle, spanning 30 feet in length, 25 feet in width, and standing proud at 20 feet high, it is the latest attraction to be catching the eyes of beachgoers. But this isn't just any oversized reptile, it's part of Times of India's Unplastic India Initiative.

The sculpture's form isn't just for show – it's sending a mighty message. Comprised of 600kg of discarded plastic bottles retrieved from Chennai's streets and an additional 700kg of iron waste, the turtle can be found on Elliot's Beach in Besant Nagar, Chennai.

Visitors can walk right inside the turtle, experiencing the artwork up close, its purpose to prompt individuals to rethink their relationship with single-use plastic and raise awareness about its detrimental effects on the environment and marine life.
