Police force's Mountain Rescue Team conducts mock drills in preparation for the Amarnath Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir
On June 30, the Mountain Rescue Team (MRT) of the Jammu and Kashmir police, located in northern India, carried out mock drills in preparation for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra, which is set to commence on July 1. The drills took place on both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes.
Despite the challenging snow-covered terrain, the dedicated MRT officials coordinated their efforts, leaving no stone unturned to ensure the safety and well-being of the pilgrims undertaking the sacred journey. Their commitment to providing a secure and risk-free experience for the pilgrims was evident as they persevered through the demanding conditions.
The MRT extended a warm welcome to pilgrims from all corners of the country and assured them of their readiness to serve. The Amarnath Yatra, a significant pilgrimage for Hindus, begins on July 1 and concludes on August 31. The Amarnath cave, believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva, holds immense spiritual importance for devotees.
Reports indicate that groups of 200 pilgrims from states like Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat have already arrived at the Bhagwati Nagar base camp. Officials meticulously inspected all arrangements made for the pilgrims, ensuring their safety and preventing any untoward incidents along the way.
