Strong winds caused a fishing boat to capsize in western Indonesia prompting a dramatic rescue today (July 23rd).

One fisherman was thrown overboard 500 metres from shore, and can be seen waving for help.

The man was brought to shore by rescue workers and immediately taken to the hospital by ambulance.

The head of Padang Beach, Syaril Hakim said, "The fisherman was oscillating for about one hour, the fishing boat was thrown by waves about three metres tall due to extreme weather and strong winds."

Due to extreme weather, strong winds caused a fishing boat on Padang beach to capsize and one fisherman tossed around, Sunday (July 23, 2023).

500 meters from the shoreline, you can see the fisherman waving his hand for help. a number of padang coast guard officers and people playing surfing tried to save the fisherman.

The rescue looked so dramatic that the fisherman managed to get to the shore and was immediately taken to the hospital by ambulance.
