A filthy female tenant shocked her landlord when she left her room looking like a rubbish dump.

The renter, a relative of the owner's girlfriend, had been staying for free at the room in Khon Kaen province, northeast Thailand, but vanished on July 16 without telling anyone.

As the woman had left the key behind at the apartment's reception counter, the owner was able to open the room, but was greeted with a revolting sight.

Piles of takeaway containers, soda bottles, dirty cups, and used tampons filled every corner of the room. Garbage was also strewn across the bed and dressing table.

Writing online, the furious apartment owner said the tenant had been leasing the space since 2021 while looking for a job. She was described as 'reclusive', spending most of her time in her room and avoiding social interaction.

The owner said: 'What a headache. How will she take responsibility for the damage? For two years, she never paid anything, not even a single penny for utility bills. But when she moved out, she still caused problems.'

The landlord said he had to hire professional cleaners to tidy up the room, claiming the rubbish was enough to fill up more than 50 large rubbish bags. The garbage truck had to make two trips to collect all the trash, including the filthy mattress and bed frame, he claimed.

The owner said: 'I haven't been able to reach her. I want to talk to her and make her take responsibility for the mess she left behind.'
