These rescue operations have carried on from Kangra to Shimla districts of the state. One such rescue took place in an area near Kangra on August 16.
Visuals showed a woman being airlifted out of a flooded area and into a helicopter. The lady held on tightly to the straps that had been put on her as she was lifted up into the chopper, where officials took her in. Below, personnel were also working towards rescuing other people. The whole area was left flooded with rainwater. Similar rescue operations saw people being lifted up into the choppers with officials helping them get all strapped up.
As per a report, around 780 people have been rescued from the several affected areas in the state. Over 50 sorties carried on until August 16 has seen the successful evacuation of all these people.Himachal Pradesh has been lashed heavily by the monsoon this season, which has led to several areas suffering disasters like landslides and floods.
