A sudden storm that hit the island of Mallorca today (August 27th) sent a cruise ship carrying thousands of tourists crashing into other vessels off the coast of Palma.

Footage is from Palma's bay coast filmed by X user @MallorcaPassion, showing the storm which sent the P&O Cruises ship Britannia off its moorings and into another ship.

One of the passengers onboard Britannia, named Amanda, commented: "We were out at sea anchored as the Britannia broke her moorings. Britannia crashed into another boat.

The Port Authority and tug boats are now supporting the Britannia to dock to allow people to get off and those passengers that were off to get back on. There was a freak storm that passed really quickly. There are all British passengers: 2000 ashore, the rest on board."
