Newborn kitten goes viral for looking exactly like Ed Sheeran
A four-week-old kitten has gone viral for looking ‘more like Ed Sheeran than Ed Sheeran’ thanks to its messy ginger hair and blue eyes.
When Jaiden Hughes’ rescue cat gave birth to a litter of babies in August at home in Ohio, USA, little did she know that one of the offspring would get international attention.
Footage that has been seen more than 25 million times shows one of her white and orange felines with messy fur just like the crooner’s own hair.
The kitten even shares the ‘Shape of You’ singer’s blue eyes, leading to 21-year-old Jaiden to call her lookalike pet Ed.
Jaiden said: “I made sure to give his mother and the kittens plenty of privacy, so I did not disturb them. When I decided they were finally ready to be held and played with.
“After picking him up and looking at his sweet face, I realized instantly that he shared a resemblance to Ed Sheeran.
“Everyone in my family agrees that he looks like the singer, and with my TikTok video reaching more than 5million likes I assume those viewers agree as well.
“Going viral was not something I expected. I woke the next day to see that my video had reached 1 million views and was completely ecstatic.
“I was very happy to see so much support, and how everyone instantly loved him!
“I rescued his mother from the parking lot of where I work and have had her for about two years. A month ago, she gave birth to him along with several others.”
Commenters on Jaiden’s video were quick to agree with the lookalike status of her new kitten.
One person wrote: “That cat looks more like Ed Sheeran than Ed Sheeran.”
Another commenter said: “Alex play purr-fect by Ed Sheeran.”
One wrote: “That might be Ed Sheeran.”
