A foolish motorist became trapped in their truck after trying to drive through deep floodwater in Caracas, Venezuela.

Footage from September 16 shows a pick-up truck coming to a halt as it attempted to move through the deep floodwater.

The filmer said that firefighters later came and rescued the motorists from the truck.

On the afternoon of Saturday, September 16, the heavy rains that were recorded for more than three hours, in addition to the collapsed drains due to lack of maintenance, caused congestion on several roads. Some main sections were flooded because the "Guaire" river exceeded its limit and entered them. (It is a 72km river of sewage that runs through all of Caracas) in the video you can see several people trying to cross with a truck, but they were trapped and the firefighters went to their rescue.
