Chinese man narrowly escapes oncoming car that crashes through restaurant wall
A man narrowly escaped an oncoming car that crashed through a restaurant's wall in southern China.
CCTV footage filmed in the city of Heyuan in Guangdong Province on September 8, shows a car suddenly smashing into a man named Xie who was leisurely drinking tea and browsing his mobile phone.
Xie looked up just in time and managed to dodge it in a split second. The vehicle crashed into the wall behind him, leaving it demolished.
Xie recounts his miraculous escape, attributing his survival to the fortuitous sip of tea that made him aware of the impending danger just in time.
It was reported that the driver mistook the gas pedal for the brake, which resulted in the unintended acceleration of the car. Luckily, both the driver and Xie escaped the freak accident without any major injuries.
Currently, the driver is processing claims through insurance.
