A fresh Russian missile attack on Kharkiv reportedly killed a 10-year-old boy and left more than 20 people injured.

The attack came after at least 51 people were killed in an attack on the village of Hroza, in the Kharkiv region, the day before.

The footage shows the aftermath following what Ukrainian media has said was a Russian strike involving two Iskander-M ballistic missiles.

Cars can be seen on fire and buildings destroyed, with debris covering a square as the emergency services attend to the scene.

The images were obtained from Ukraine's President, Volodymyr Zelensky, on Friday, October 6, at around 10 am, along with a statement saying (in Ukrainian): 'Kharkiv, Russian strike this morning. A child was killed - a boy. He was ten years old... My condolences to his family and loved ones!

'More than 20 people have been injured. All the wounded are receiving the necessary assistance.

'The rescue operation is ongoing. I am grateful to everyone who is helping our people.

'And I thank all our soldiers who, despite everything, continue to advance, destroy the occupiers, and bring justice closer to Ukraine. Our resilience, our movement, and the daily losses of the occupiers are the response to Russian terror.'

Ukrainian media reported that at least 25 people have been injured.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, in what the Kremlin is still calling a 'special military operation'.
