STORYLINE:

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi on Monday received South Korea's National Assembly Speaker Kim Jin-pyo in Cairo.

The spokesperson of the Egyptian presidency Ahmed Fahmy stated that the meeting witnessed an affirmation of mutual pride in the close ties that bring together the two friendly countries, and praised the development witnessed by bilateral relations during the recent period, especially at the parliamentary level.

The official spokesman added that the meeting witnessed an exchange of views on the most prominent developments in regional and international issues, most notably the developments of the current Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Both sides agreed on the importance of working to prevent escalation due to the serious repercussions of the conflict on the humanitarian situation and the security and stability of the entire region.
