Two people were killed and many are still missing after a cave collapsed during an illegal cave excavation in Dhanbad, Jharkhand.

According to reports, eight people are feared to have been buried by the cave-in that happened on October 16.

Many people had entered ECL Kapasara Outsourcing of Nirsa in Dhanbad to harvest coal through an illegal opening. During this time, suddenly the mine caved in with a loud noise. Two people have died due to the mine collapse. There is a suspicion that about eight people are buried on October 16 (Monday).

According to local sources the body of one of them has been taken out. One body has also been identified. There is information that someone else's body was taken out and he ran away. There was chaos inside the mines after the incident. People who were harvesting coal could somehow escape to save their lives. Local people have held ECL management responsible for the incident. People say that ECL management leaves the mines open after excavating, in which people are losing their lives for a few rupees.
