A motorcycle pillion passenger carried an entire scooter on the back of a moving bike.

Footage shows the woman cradling her own motorcycle while sitting on the back of another and travelling along a road in Loei province, Thailand, on October 9.

The pair rode at a steady pace, with both of them constantly turning their heads to keep their distance from the other motorists.

Onlooker Tuta Soitan, who was behind them, said: 'I was going to deliver something and came across it, so I took a video. I was surprised they were carrying a motorbike in that way.'

Thailand has one of the world's worst road safety records. Ministers have set the goal of reducing fatalities from 32.7 deaths per 100,000 people to 12 per 100,000 people by the year 2027.

However, a lack of road safety education in schools along with notoriously easy driving tests, police failures to enforce road laws, and chronic under-investment in infrastructure, all appear to hamper the efforts.
