SOUNDBITE 1 (English): MARCO RUSSO, CEO of Italian jewelry brand Russo Cammei
"We understood that the CIIE is a very useful event, very useful opportunity to test if the Chinese consumers like or not your jewels, your creations. And for this reason, we consider it as a unique opportunity because it's different from other events."

Marco Russo came from an Italian family dedicated to making artisanal handmade jewels for over a century.

He recalled the "memorable experience" when they attended the CIIE for the first time four years ago.

"We were there in (the CIIE for the) first time in 2019, and it was a great experience. Unbelievable how many Chinese consumers came to visit us, showing a great interest in our art. We were really surprised and we appreciate too much."

These days he has been preparing for another trip to Shanghai to meet face to face with Chinese consumers, as he doubles down on expanding their business presence in China.

SOUNDBITE 3 (English): MARCO RUSSO, CEO of Italian jewelry brand Russo Cammei
"In the case of CIIE, you have the opportunity to meet directly the Chinese consumers, so they can decide to buy or not our creation, and we can understand if we are making the right work to try to sell in this market, that according to us, is absolutely the most important market in the world."
