STORYLINE:

After over four years in the growing Chinese market, Czech sports nutrition company Amix is aiming to further expand its reach at this year's China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai.

SOUNDBITE 1 (English): ONDREJ NOVOTNY, Amix's sales manager
"We are very happy to participate in this fair this year because we already have an established business. We think that the CIIE is an excellent chance to improve our already existing business. The CIIE is a fair which is focused on the more mainstream general public. It's not a specialized fair for sports nutrition. That's why we would like to get into contact with potential new customers and new dealers in China who are focused on more mainstream products, which we also have in our Amix portfolio."

At this year's expo, Amix plans to showcase popular products such as testosterone supplements and multivitamins. The company also plans to share new offerings for the mainstream Chinese market, including protein bars.

SOUNDBITE 2 (English): ONDREJ NOVOTNY, Amix's sales manager
"Another goal which we might be looking to fulfill during the fair is that we would like to help our importer get potential new sub-distributors so we can widen our coverage for the Chinese market. If you have a well-established, strong company, which is selling all over the world, it's just impossible that you won't be present in China and Southeast Asia. Despite your local business, this sports nutrition business is developing rapidly and doing well. We still see their potential for foreign brands like us, and that's why we really focus on the Chinese market."

The seventh CIIE, set for November 5-10 in Shanghai, has attracted participants from 152 countries, regions and international organizations, and achieved a new record with 297 Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders set to attend.

SOUNDBITE 3 (English): ONDREJ NOVOTNY, Amix's sales manager
"This fair is starting to be really very popular and well attended. And the media are focused on that. So that fair is really, really important. It's a nice option to show yourself to the Chinese public and the Chinese market and be visible from day one. We'd like to attend the CIIE because it gives us a chance to show Amix to a new audience. Not a hardcore gym audience, but the general public."
