STORYLINE:
A 385-meter-tall power transmission tower, the tallest of its kind in the world, is high above the morning mist in Wuxi City, east China's Jiangsu Province.
The tower stands by the Yangtze River, the country's longest waterway, and has a twin tower which is located across the river in Taizhou City.
The twin towers stand at a distance of 2.6 km, connecting power lines in Taizhou on the north bank of the Yangtze and Wuxi in the south.
They are the crucial part of the 500-kV power transmission project spanning the river, which is one of the most technically difficult river-crossing network transmission projects in China.
The 500-kV power transmission project commenced operations in July 2023.
