No Trousers Tube Ride organiser Dave Selkirk said that the annual stunt is 'just for fun' in an interview before it started on Sunday (January 7).

"The point of the No Trousers Tube Ride is just for fun" Dave explained, "it's attention seeking, a bit crazy, but its sole purpose is to get on the Tube and have some fun."

Selkirk explained the participants board the Tube train, then take their trousers off.

"Normally we get a mixture of reactions of shock or excitement, or sometimes we even get people joining in", he added, "there should hopefully be no offence caused".

Dave can be seen leading the event with a megaphone in hand on Tube station platforms.

The No Trousers Tube Ride is inspired by Improv Everywhere's 'No Pants Subway Ride' in New York City.
