A Siberian tiger was spotted slowly walking in the middle of a road, with visible bloodstains on its front paws in northern China.

The CCTV footage was filmed in the city of Hunchun in Jilin Province on January 4.

The owner of a convenience store in the living area of the mining district confirmed the tiger's presence in the vicinity of the gatepost in the early morning.

It had reportedly attacked and killed a dog at the gatepost, and the bloodstains on the tiger's front paws were believed to be from that incident.

"We are in a protected area, and Siberian tigers are often seen here," stated the store owner. She mentioned encountering Siberian tigers on her way in the past, even on the roads.

This winter, she observed an increased frequency of tiger sightings near the mining area. "They appeared in October and November last year, and now they've appeared again," she said.

The fact that the tiger had killed a dog this time added to her fear, and she expressed reluctance to venture out at night.

"During the day, people from the living area going to the mine either drive or ride motorcycles, which is okay. Customers coming to the store to buy things haven't decreased. But at night, everyone is afraid to move around," she added.
