Villagers encountered a wild Siberian tiger on a road in northern China.

Video filmed in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in Jilin Province on July 23 shows a wild tiger laying in the middle of a road.

It then stood up and walked across the road in front of the car as the vehicle moved forward slowly.

The motorist named Liu was heard saying: "I finally see a tiger. It looks so scary. I see a tiger, I am so excited."

Another clip filmed on July 24 shows a wild tiger standing in the middle of the same road and turning his head around to stare at another car moving closer to it.

The tiger then walked to the side of the road and went back into the forest.

Local residents saw the wild Siberian tiger twice two days in a row.

According to Northeast China's Tiger and Leopard National Park Management Bureau, they will use the existing monitoring measures to do timely work on early warning, tracking and monitoring of wild animals in the region as well as setting up safety warning signs to warn villagers.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
