This is the nail-biting moment a fearless female snake catcher subdued an angry cobra in a family's bathroom using her bare hands.

Reptile expert Ratha Tapianthong arrived to remove the venomous beast that had slithered into a resident's home in Ang Thong province, Thailand, on January 31.

Footage shows Ratha deftly handling the cobra and avoiding its angry strikes. Unfazed by the cobra's furious hissing, the seasoned snake wrangler then used her bare hands to pin the serpent to the floor.

She hauled the snake out onto the street, where she sealed it inside a sack to be released into the wild.

Homeowner Siriwan Chamnan, 38, said she was alerted to the cobra's presence thanks to her pet kittens.

She said: 'I was walking to the bathroom while my cats were playing nearby. Suddenly, they ran towards me like they were scared of something.

'I looked to check and was horrified to see there was a cobra inside my house. I'm relieved that my pets and I are safe.'

Siriwan added she hoped the cobra's appearance would bring her good luck.
