In a dramatic sea rescue mission, a 58-year-old South Korean fisherman was airlifted from a fishing vessel after experiencing breathing difficulties and severe chest pains. The man, a crew member of a South Korean fishing vessel, was rescued 87 kilometers away from the Almirante Marcos Zar airport in Trelew, Chubut.

The operation was initiated following a radio consultation with a medical professional, determining the urgent need for immediate evacuation for the man to receive timely medical attention. Specialized personnel trained for such emergencies departed from Comodoro Rivadavia airport aboard a helicopter and successfully carried out a precise maneuver amidst rough seas and unfavorable weather conditions to lower a medical basket and hoist the fisherman to safety.

As the rescue unfolded at sea, coordination was underway on land for the arrival of an ambulance to transport the rescued man for further medical care. The fisherman is currently recovering at the Sanatorio de Trelew, thanks to the coordinated efforts of the rescue team and medical professionals involved in the operation.
