This footage captures the dramatic rescue of a 19-year-old fisherman who fell 15-20 feet off a cliff into the ocean near Ocean Cove Campground in Sonoma County, California, on Thursday, 28th September 2024.

Bystanders bravely pulled the fisherman from the pounding waves and brought him to safety on the bluff moments before the arrival of the Henry-1 rescue helicopter. The Tactical Flight Officer quickly deployed after the helicopter landed nearby, securing the victim in a half-back rescue device for an airlift.

The fisherman, suffering from severe injuries, was airlifted via a 100-foot long line to a nearby parking lot, where emergency personnel from multiple agencies were ready to assist. Henry-1 was subsequently converted for medical transport, ensuring the victim received prompt care at a local trauma centre.

This rescue came just hours after Henry-1 participated in joint training with the North Sonoma Coast Fire Protection District and CALFIRE, underscoring the vital importance of teamwork in critical situations.
