On February 2nd, inside a gymnasium in Xingtai, northern China, a man was about to pick up a basketball from the ground when he noticed something unusual about it. Reacting swiftly, he fled the scene. In the split second when he turned around, the basketball exploded with a loud bang, splitting into two halves. The other people in the gymnasium were also stunned by this scene, emitting screams. Fortunately, no one was injured due to the basketball explosion.

It is understood that if a basketball is used for too long, the outer layer may oxidize and age. During basketball activities, when the heat reaches a certain level, the air inside the basketball will expand. If the internal pressure exceeds the external pressure, an explosion may occur.
