On the evening of February 20th, in Suqian, Jiangsu Province, the ceiling of the outpatient hall at the Suqian First People's Hospital collapsed, causing chaos as debris fell onto the floor. Eyewitnesses attributed the collapse to freezing rain, which exerted pressure on the ceiling.

On February 12th, a staff member at the Suqian First People's Hospital stated that the collapse was due to severe weather conditions, as the freezing rain was a rare occurrence in many years. Currently, maintenance work is underway in the collapsed area of the outpatient hall. Patients seeking treatment can visit the outpatient department on the second floor, bypassing the collapsed area to access the second floor either from the emergency department or by taking alternative routes.

Public records indicate that the Suqian First People's Hospital covers an area of 330 acres, with a construction area of 265,000 square meters. The total investment exceeded 2 billion yuan, and it officially commenced operations on July 19, 2016.
