Suspected DUI Driver Arrested After Crash in Van Nuys, LA, USA

LAPD and LAFD responded to a solo traffic collision on Sherman Way involving a Toyota Tundra pickup truck traveling eastbound that struck a power pole and the truck was facing the wrong way.
A resident off camera mentioned he went outside after hearing the loud impact and asked the driver if he was fine. He saw that the driver of the truck tried fleeing from the scene but the truck was not able to engage in drive and the rear tires kept spinning. The resident then called 911 to report the incident.
LAPD officers from Valley Traffic Division arrested the driver for suspected DUI. LAFD secured the scene with yellow tape due to the structurally compromised integrity of the power pole leaning toward traffic lanes as a result of the collision. There were no injuries reported.
