Food activists targeted a supermarket in Paris, France, on April 6.

Footage shows the six demonstrators from the group Riposte Alimentaire triggering alarms in the business.

They claim that agriculture is contributing to 21 per cent of the country's greenhouse gas emissions leading to rising temperatures.

The intensive agricultural model used by the retail and agri-food industry is contributing to biodiversity loss and soil degradation, the group said.

They added: 'Together, they reap excessive profits, believed to be accountable for two-thirds of inflation. As a result, one in three French citizens struggles to afford a balanced diet, leading to food insecurity and reliance on food aid among the most vulnerable.'
