In a significant operation, authorities have seized 16 tons of cocaine-infused pellets and dismantled a drug processing center in Reus. The joint operation, led by the National Police in collaboration with Customs Surveillance officials from the Tax Agency, resulted in the arrest of five individuals allegedly involved in large-scale drug trafficking.

The seized pellets, totaling 16,560 kilograms, were found to contain cocaine following positive reactions in testing. The organized crime group utilized maritime containers loaded with pellets to smuggle the drugs. Additionally, authorities confiscated 5 kilograms of synthetic drugs, including speed and MDMA, along with €3,965 in cash, hydraulic presses, drug manufacturing equipment, a truck, and a high-end vehicle.

The investigation revealed that the criminal network, composed of individuals from Albania, the Netherlands, and Lithuania, smuggled narcotics through Spanish ports using sophisticated concealment methods. The drugs were camouflaged or infused into various materials to evade detection during international trade operations.

Containers of pellets, originating from the Americas, were impregnated with narcotics and shipped to Spain. Upon arrival, the containers were stored in industrial warehouses for a minimum of three months before the drugs were extracted.
