This is the shocking moment a wild boar savagely attacks an old man outside his home and drags him down the street.

The drama was captured on CCTV footage in the village of Huanghe, located in the mountainous Chengkou County, in Chongqing, China, on March 28.

In the video, the elderly victim, not identified in local media, was seen walking past a garage when he came face to face with the wild animal.

Having perceived him as a threat, it charged head-on and knocked the old man to the ground.

The boar left him no time to try and defend himself as it then jumped on its back and tossed him around.

It began biting him and savagely shook him with its powerful jaw. Then, it began to drag him by his clothes towards the road.

At that moment, four villagers rushed to his help armed with wooden sticks and joined by a barking dog.

They managed to drive the boar away and saved the victim who reportedly survived the injuries he sustained during the incident.

The wild boar (Sus scrofa) is a robust and sturdy mammal belonging to the pig family and is native to Europe, Asia, and North Africa.

It typically has a compact body with a large head, a distinctive snout, and a bristly coat.

Wild boars are known for their strong tusks, which protrude from their mouths and can inflict significant damage.

They are known for their intelligence, adaptability, as well as their potential for lethal aggression.
