Determined police officers drove into a hospital ward in an attempt to arrest a man accused of sexually harassing a female doctor in Rishikesh, Uttarkhand.

Footage shows the officers driving through the crowded emergency ward with rows of patients on beds either side.

According to the police, a nurse had allegedly sexually harassed a female doctor and sent a explicit message to her as well.

Angered by the nurse's actions, doctors at the hospital went on strike and demanded the alleged offender to be sacked.

Displaying an unusual zeal to chase an accused man, cops drove into the emergency ward of AIIMS Rishikesh on Tuesday, The police wanted to arrest a nursing officer accused of sexually harassing a woman doctor.

According to the police, the nursing officer allegedly sexually harassed a woman doctor inside an operation theatre at the premier health facility. Satish Kumar, now suspended, had also allegedly sent an obscene SMS to the doctor, Rishikesh police officer Shankar Singh Bisht said
The incident sparked anger among the hospital's doctors, who went on a strike and protested outside the dean's office demanding that the offender be sacked. The doctors also approached the police.

Seeing the large number of protesting doctors, the police decided to drive into the hospital to arrest Satish Kumar
