STORYLINE:

One year ago, the first China-Central Asia Summit held in China's Xi'an set a new platform for good neighborliness and win-win cooperation between China and five Central Asian countries.

Over the past year, an increasing number of people have been involved in the growing wave of cooperation between China and Central Asia.

In October 2023, China's Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU) officially opened its campus in Kazakhstan.

"In April this year, we went to Kazakhstan to launch classes. The School of Materials (of our university) sent more than 20 teachers over there. We also integrated our cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology into materials computing courses, providing a new and exciting experience for the students."

Sahedov Begench, a businessman from Turkmenistan, founded an international trading company in Xi'an to engage in cross-border e-commerce.

"Through the China-Europe freight trains, we have not only saved time but also reduced costs. We transport our distinctive products from Turkmenistan to China, while simultaneously bringing Chinese electronics to our country for sale.
I feel extremely fortunate to have come to China, where I have personally experienced Chinese culture and witnessed China's economic and trade activities. Through trade, cultural exchanges naturally follow, enabling mutual understanding of our cultures. I see myself as a bridge, contributing my efforts to facilitating communication between entrepreneurs from Turkmenistan and China, as well as cultural exchanges."

Although located in the heartland, Xi'an is one of the China-Europe Railway Express assembly centers. 

It launched 1,047 China-Europe freight trains in the first quarter of this year.
