A fierce bird divebombed a scared black cat in a family's garden.

The five-year-old male moggy named Chichimara was walking along the yard but when it passed by the territorial animal's tree, it attacked the feline to drive it away in Samut Prakan province, Thailand, on June 101.

Footage shows the bird diving steeply downward to hit Chichimara and make it leave. The bird did it more than eight times, and the feline had no choice but to steer clear of the tree.

Pet owner Noppamas Srisopa said: ‘Every morning, I let my cat poop and pee in the garden, but the bird would scare it away. It might have a nest in one of the trees and wanted to protect its babies.'

The most common reason is that birds divebomb people or other animals is that they are trying to protect their nest.
