A staggeringly large python was seen slithering over a family's garden wall at the back of her home.

Footage shows the massive 12ft-long serpent slowly inching up the concrete fence before sliding down into a hole leading to the sewers while a pet cat watched in Samut Prakan province, Thailand, on August 29.

The resident, Thongchai, called the local wildlife handling department but they were unable to find the reptile.

The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
