An adopted cat shot with an arrow on her head was rescued and survived in the Philippines.

The black and white tabby feline was weak from being injured by the sharp metal stabbing her forehead when she was found by good Samaritans in Davao City, the Philippines.

Footage shows the moggy, affectionately named Arrow by her rescuers, resting in a cage on the way to the vets on April 18.

Arrow was assessed by medics who did an emergency procedure to remove the metal and stitch her wounds.

The cat survived and is now living with her new owner, Mary Joy Villamor, and family, who hand-fed her with a bottle of milk during her recovery.

Mary Joy said: ‘We don't know who did that to Arrow. What they did to the cat was very cruel.'

A Davao Emergency Veterinary Hospital medic who helped treat Arrow said: ‘Arrow has been eating well and thankfully had no seizures overnight after the operation. It's a small but significant step forward in her journey.'
