Terrified residents fled as a mountainside collapsed in southern China.

The video was filmed in Fuzhou City in Jiangxi Province on June 17.

A massive landslide occurred near the entrance of Sanxi Village, Dongbei Town, Yihuang County, along National Highway G236, estimated to cover an astounding 5,000 to 6,000 cubic metres.

At the scene, two civilian vehicles and an excavator were unfortunately buried. Fortunately, due to timely warnings and evacuation measures, no casualties were reported.

According to reports, around 4:00 p.m. on that day, safety personnel from the Yihuang County Highway Center were clearing a landslide on the slope of G236 when they noticed rolling stones from the upper slope. They immediately issued a warning and swiftly directed the excavator operator and the drivers of the two civilian vehicles to evacuate. It was this timely warning and evacuation that prevented potential casualties.

Following the incident, response teams swiftly mobilised for emergency rescue efforts. The highway department in Fuzhou City initiated a level four emergency response, deploying significant manpower and resources for rescue operations.

Currently, efforts to clear and repair the site are still ongoing.
