A German tourist was arrested for allegedly attacking a female motorcycle rider unprovoked in Indonesia.

Footage shows the holidaymaker Henry Bruno Torper, 37, causing a traffic disruption as he swaggered across the Imam Bonjol Road in Bali, before appearing to punch an oncoming motorcyclist on June 12.

The man was later arrested and taken on a perp walk while wearing an orange jumpsuit numbered 019.

Denpasar Police Chief Kombes Wisnu Prabowo said in a June 16 press conference: 'On June 12, 2024, the perpetrator was walking in the middle of the southern Imam Bonjol highway when the victim who was riding a motorcycle arrived.

'Suddenly, he turned in the opposite direction and immediately hit the victim until she fell off the motorcycle.'

Henry was also reported to have gone on a rampage at his villa lodging, breaking windows with stones and allegedly threatening his neighbours and villa employees with a knife on June 15.

He reportedly threw rocks at the responding cops, who later subdued the out-of-control German, who was said to be in an 'emotional and furious state'.

Head of Public Relations of the Bali Regional Police, Kombes Police Jansen Avitus Panjaitan, said that the foreigner was allegedly stressed by family problems in his home country.

Kuta Police Chief AKP I Ketut Agus Pasek Sudina said: 'The suspect is a tourist with a Visa on Arrival. We checked Immigration and found his temporary information that shows his visa is expired. His passport was also not in his bag.'

Henry is now facing multiple charges for alleged violations under Emergency Law No.12/1951 concerning weapons, and under the Indonesian Penal Code involving 'maltreatment', coercion by force, and destruction of property.

The penalties range from three months to two years and eight months in prison.
