Cosenza, Italy - June 30, 2024

In the early afternoon around 13:40 on June 30 the crew of Dragon VF54 based in Lamezia Terme successfully rescued a 30-year-old hiker from Bari and her dog, Nala, on Mount Montea at an altitude of 1500 meters in the municipality of Belvedere Marittimo, Cosenza.

The woman had veered off the main trail during her hike, becoming disoriented in the wooded area. Upon pinpointing her location, firefighting personnel swiftly located the young woman, who was found to be in good health. She was airlifted to safety and handed over to the firefighting team at the CS Command.
