Workers dodge boulders tumbling down mountain in India
Workers dodged boulders that tumbled down a mountain that was weakened following by an earthquake in India.
Footage shows the emergency responders clearing a highway blocked by debris before the large rocks rolled down the slope in Uttarakhand on July 11.
No one was hurt as the team fled, the rocks cascaded down, and the clearing operation continued.
It came days after a magnitude 3.5 earthquake rocked the Chamoli district on July 7 loosening the earth on the hillsides.
There were two severe landslides on July 9, resulting in thousands of commuters and drivers being stranded upon the closure of the Badrinath National Highway.
The route that led to Badrinath Temple became impassable for 48 hours as 2,000 religious pilgrims followed the road.
Uttarakhand Police confirmed reopening the previously blocked section near Bhanerpani in Chamoli, allowing vehicles to pass safely once again.
The police station issued a statement: 'The blocked Badrinath National Highway near Bhanerpani in Chamoli has opened for traffic.'
