Ongoing efforts to clear debris from a landslide on a national highway in northern India’s Uttarakhand are progressing, with two-wheeler vehicles now being allowed to pass through.

The incident took place on Badrinath National Highway, Chamoli district on July 12.

Visuals showed how the path was cleared by the SDRF team and reopening of the road for use again.

Speaking to Newslions, SDRF Media Co-ordinator of Uttarakhand Lalita Negi mentioned, that the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and local police are actively working at the site to ensure safety and expedite the cleanup process.

The landslide, which occurred due to recent heavy rains, caused significant disruption, blocking one of the key routes to the pilgrimage site of Badrinath. Authorities are focused on restoring full vehicular movement while ensuring the safety of travellers. Emergency teams remain on the scene to manage the situation and assist those affected.
